Sock Spider

You will need: An old sock, cotton stuffing, thread, a needle, a pair of scissors, four pipe cleaners, a hot glue gun and a permanent marker.

Step One
Stuff an old sock with cotton and when you think you have enough, cut the rest of the sock off.
Step two
Sew the open end of the sock together and then tie some leftover thread around the middle of the sock to separate the body from the head.
Step three
Cut two small holes in the sides of the sock and cut all four pipe cleaners in half.
Step four
Get an adult to hot glue four of the cut pipe cleaners together and hot glue the other cut pipe cleaners together as well.
Step five
Fold both sets of pipe cleaners to turn them into legs before putting one set in each hole
Step six
Cut two small holes at the front so that the white of the cotton stuffing is showing.
Step seven
Draw little black circles in each circle to make them eyes and draw a mouth to finish of your sock spider.

Drawing a Spider

You will need: A pencil, colouring pencils

Step One
Draw an oval and eight legs coming out of it.
Step two
Draw two small semi-circles near the top of the oval and one slightly bigger upside down semi-circle near the bottom.
Step three
Draw the eye by drawing the outline and thickening the lines on the outside.
Step four
Draw small curves at the bottom of each eye.
Step five
Fill in the other part of the eye with whichever colour you would like.
Step six
( OPTIONAL) Draw three dots in a triangle shape for freckles.
Step seven
(OPTIONAL) Draw accessories such as glasses or a bow.
